Tom Keogh Seattle Times Laconic, lost in memory but focused, Stanton slowly opens up to filmmaker-interviewer Sophie Huber. Rated: 3/4 Nov 7, 2013 Full Review Ty Burr Boston Globe It adds up to an unexpectedly moving portrait of a maverick at twilight. Rated: 3/4 Oct 3, 2013 Full Review Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle Alternating between color footage and the genius interplay of startlingly lovely sequences of Stanton singing and playing harmonica in granular black-and-white, Harry Dean Stanton: Partly Fiction perfectly captures the essence of the man. Rated: 4/5 Sep 27, 2013 Full Review Matt Warren Battleship Pretension The problem with Partly Fiction is that the filmmakers were depending on Harry Dean Stanton's inherent coolness to carry the film. Feb 24, 2021 Full Review Sophie Brown Dazed and Confused Singing, smoking and keeping himself to himself, Harry Dean Stanton's quiet enigma suggests a restless sense of perpetual escape and loneliness. Oct 14, 2016 Full Review Austin Trunick Under the Radar Stanton isn't interested in giving away the details of his life and career, and no one's going to lure them out of him. Audience Member Must see for movie geeks, film students, actors and makers of all makes! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/26/19 Full Review Audience Member Conveys a sense of calm acceptance, a type of wisdom and a believable alternative to enlightenment. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent Documentary about Ky-born Harry Dean Stanton. Highly recommended! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a nice picture. It's like spending time with an old friend that you are completely comfortable with. Makes you want to know more and see more. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member A legend is heralded in his later life in true legendary fashion. There is nothing very much like Harry Dean in this world. He just is. And I for one am very delighted for that. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
