Sally Moore (Jean Parker) is a lovely dance teacher on the verge of a great future, including marriage, until tragedy strikes. After a bad accident makes her once-graceful feet horribly crippled, she is forced to leave behind the life she once knew. Working as a lonely seamstress, stitching near an open window, she meets spirited ice cream salesman James Flaherty (James Dunn). With her crippled limbs out of sight, the two begin a flirtation upon which Sally soon pins her hopes for happiness.
