Whether it the crazy-jealous husband, the obviously strange insistence of Osborn to behave in the way that he did, the whole affair with the French sisters. I have to say I saw this as the PBS edition, which cuts it to a 3-hour-story so I might have missed things which would have made it better Rated 3/5 Stars •  Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I rather enjoyed this nice drama, BUT I wanted so much to reach into my screen and slap that husband. Holy cow was he ever a total idiot. Obviously, he had some kind of mental illness that was causing him to act that way, and which finally did him in. Watching him just made me madder and madder. The movie was so nicely done, though, and the rest of the people were able to have happy endings. So...made up for it I guess. Yet, you're never entirely convinced as to who is "right". Did she or didn't she? The title alone made me want to see this. If you're a fan of period pieces and BBC dramas, you'll like this.
