Claudio C Heatwave (2022) Underrated Thriller (11,813 –07 Jul 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) When she was fifteen years old, Claire Valens (Kat Graham) loses her family in a fire. She blames the landlord that did not take care with the firefighting equipment in the apartment building where her family lived. Then she arsons his building, killing the landlord that was at home. In the present days, the ambitious Claire is working at the Crane Corporation. When she overhears that a place would be interesting to be invested in, she tells her boss Scott Crane (Sebastian Roché). She is promoted by him in the company and becomes his assistant, replacing Lane (Aren Buchholz). Meanwhile, Claire meets Eve (Merritt Patterson) at a swimming pool, and they have a love affair. When Scott’s wife promotes a party at home, he invites Claire. Scott welcomes her and presents his wife Genevieve Crane. For the surprise of Claire, Genevieve is her beloved Eve. Soon Scott Crane disappears and Det. Parker (Roger Cross) and his partner, Det. Arlo Leonard (Cardi Wong) investigate the case, and Claire becomes the prime suspect. Now she has to prove her innocence. “Heatwave” (2022) is an underrated American thriller directed by Ernie Barbarash. The complex story of conspiracy in a neo-noir style has many twists well resolved. Merritt Patterson is extremely gorgeous and together with K\t Graham, they give magnificent performances. The plot is well built and surprises the viewer very moment with new revelations and flashbacks. My vote is eight. Title (Brazil): “Onda de Calor” (“Heatwave”) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/07/25 Full Review Tibor F The unnecessary and unrealistic lesbian beginning and scenes makes this story very hard to follow, and rather, this is very misleading about motives of people. I think these actors could have shined with a good script, and good direction, but dialogs just feels like random people saying random things, without any real connection. I think dialog was not reviewed, and was written by someone inexperienced. Also, make up-is unnecessarily very heavy, actors sometimes look like smooth dolls. Finally: you literally have no motivation to finish the film and even if you do, you will forget the film immediately. 1.5 stars for the actors at least trying to entertain. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/18/24 Full Review Michael C Yas representation matters great movie great acting and they are all sooo beautiful!!!!
