      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Hell Fest might give less demanding horror fans a few decent reasons to scream, but it's neither clever nor frightening enough to leave much of an impression.

Chloe M I mean it's okay? there's literally like 2 good actresses in the whole thing which was the toughest part for me…can normally get through eh scripts/concepts with good acting but most of the acting was mid at best :/ Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/16/23 Full Review Rosie E It had it's moments, tension built well here and there. I almost dropped it within first 20ish minutes but I pushed through and received a few kills none of which was memorable, which kind of ruined the build up of waiting for them to happen. Ending was a pleasant surprise, maybe we'll receive a 2nd installment that'll correct the mistakes of the 1st one Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/12/23 Full Review Zach 1 A fun fresh breath of air in a classic slasher formula. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/01/23 Full Review Valok P Hell Fest is the epitome of what modern horror has become; excessive bloody murder, a bland plot and effects outweighing everything else to add more to shock than actual heart. Asides from a few scenes of praise, Hell Fest is just another drop in the ocean for the horror genre. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/25/23 Full Review Emilliano S Forgetful horror flick. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/04/23 Full Review Josueudes d Não é um filme perfeito, mas a ambientação e a fotografia é maravilhosa. Personagens pouco desenvolvidos, mas não são insuportáveis. As cenas de mortes não são tão legais, mas não são horríveis, mas mesmo assim, são fracas. O filme termina muito bem, com um final incrível. Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review It wasn't anything new, it was old riffs done in a way that was actually quite efficient.... The nastiest is the right level of nasty, the silliness is the right level of silly. Nov 16, 2018 Full Review Mike McCahill Guardian Plotkin's relentless button-pushing, coupled to the script's cringe-inducing yooftalk, instead mark Hell Fest as unmistakably the work of middle-aged execs trying to jab suggestible teenagers back into cinemas. Rated: 2/5 Nov 16, 2018 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) They did this 40 years ago, and better, in 'Halloween.' It's getting really, really tired. Rated: 1/5 Nov 16, 2018 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review The movie remains satisfying because it's not trying to approach the slasher genre from a place of irony or nostalgia, as many have in recent years. Rated: 3.5/4 Mar 11, 2022 Full Review Keturah Kendrick Mediaversity Reviews While overly simplistic, Hell Fest does at least feature some nuances of female friendship. Rated: C Jul 22, 2021 Full Review Eve Tushnet Patheos ...just a bunch of gooey stuff. May 17, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews
