Bruce DeMara Toronto Star As filled with good intentions as it clearly is, Hellbound? feels painfully earnest throughout as well as cluttered and only occasionally illuminating. Rated: 2/4 Oct 25, 2012 Full Review Kerry Lengel Arizona Republic An engaging, accessible documentary that explores the (truly) eternal questions, "Does hell exist? If so, who ends up there, and why?" Rated: 4/5 Oct 4, 2012 Full Review Cary Darling Fort Worth Star-Telegram/DFW.com Hellbound will probably find favor mostly with a Christian-film audience when, if [director Kevin Miller] had cast a wider net, it might have had broader appeal. Rated: 3/5 Sep 22, 2012 Full Review Brent Simon Shockya.com A rich, thoughtful conversation-starter about changing notions of religious damnation, Hellbound? invades notoriously touchy territory with an open mind, steady focus and civil disposition. Rated: B+ Feb 7, 2013 Full Review David Noh Film Journal International After seeing this doc, the average sinning moviegoer may feel less apprehensive and less in need of an asbestos jumpsuit for the afterlife. Audience Member Very Fair Presentation of Something that Should be Close to Every Christians Heart.. God Can't be for Violence! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member A thoughtful, powerful conversation on hell. However, the film has a slight slant towards universalism, in my opinion. The eternal torment side was generally depicted as either unlearned, crazy, or overly dogmatic, while the universalists were portrayed far more charitably. Annihilation was also not given much air time, and was treated as the middle child. Regardless of this, the film was provocative and insightful. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member VERY GOOD, recommended for those of you who believe in God and are not totally brainwashed by dogma. Actually, never-mind it's infinitely more so recommended to those of you... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member All around excellent, balanced, and thought-provoking documentary on hell, with a focus on the connection between our conception of theistic behaviour in the afterlife and our imitative behaviour in this life. Worth seeing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Great movie, providing information on the history of different theological conclusions about ' hell ' , providing the 3 historical and ' orthodox views' . One of which is termed universal restoration. A must see for any serious bible thump-ers or even non-bible believers.. see it...
