Tom M Taylor and Shearer are good but the films drags on. It could have been a 30 minute sitcom episode. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/21 Full Review Audience Member Not good, and I was so hoping it would be with such a great cast. Script not funny, and Norma Shearer was out of her depths in this one. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Norma's final film is an innocuous affair and she looks great but it's a trifle that was hopelessly out of date in '42 despite the presence of George Sanders in the cast. She refused to move with the times so it's for the best that she chose a well-heeled retirement. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member weak finish to an amazing career 4 norma shearer's final film Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member another good one from cukor-excellent director. Josephine O'Neill Daily Telegraph (Australia) George Cukor, losing his head completely, makes the cast go slapstick whenever there is nothing else happening -- and there generally isn't. May 26, 2021 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Cukor'a adaptation of the French farce is disappointing due to the miscasting of Robert Taylor, signaling the end of Norma Shearer's screen career.
