Carla Hay Culture Mix The only heroic thing that the dog does is show some common sense when the humans make very dumb decisions ... There isn't much to like about this movie except the dog. And it's too bad this innocent dog was forced to be in this embarrassing mess. May 3, 2021 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media This is a heavy-handed adventure story about a dog in the wild, but kids will probably enjoy it. V S Absolutely fantastic family movie! The people that did not like this movie should not watch a movie that starts with ‘Hero Dog in the title. This is great family entertainment. The dog lives and the people are kind and likable. The plot is predictable but the title includes ‘a journey home’ so that should be what it is. I recommend this movie to anyone that wants to be entertained and enjoy a movie night with family or alone.- Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/07/24 Full Review Leslie J The kid is supposed to be good at orienteering. He doesn’t have a compass he has a map. Seriously? Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/09/24 Full Review Gary P Horrible movie, bad acting, bad directing, boring ,would be impossible in real life, the Alaskan Malamute was the only thing worth watching. Don't waste your time and electricity on this. $ 2,100,000 budget, it must have all been used to rent the helicopter, this much money for such a sorry, silly movie was ridiculous. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/24 Full Review Merrit B Great for kids. Super clean movie with some adorable performances. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/13/24 Full Review Audience Member This was a "C" class movie. Terrible lines and delivery, like a high school play. Do not waste your time!
