AJ E Hierarchy 2025, Heat 1995. One is not the other, and the latter is not derivative of the former. Russel K Reed I've heard had a budget of $100k, Michael Mann had $60 mill. This is the best crime-thriller-drama I've seen in 30 years. Strong black leads in Uzowulu and Alvarado that had a hint of Denzel and Idris respectively. I have to compare them to known actors because I've not seen either of these new guys prior, and I hope that is about to change for them. The storytelling from Uzowulu had me guessing incorrectly the entire time, which is perfect, along with that twist in the end about the unknown bro, perfect cinematic ambush. The cinematography, the look, the feel, the sound, the vibe is Heat, but if these filmmakers had had $60 million as Mann did, we'd be talking about Oscar's and not indie awards. The entire team that made this on a shoestring, I'll be looking out for. Excellent, top shelf work. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/28/25 Full Review The Ghost P Excellent Film... Has the tone of POWER Which is one of my favorite series.. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/21/25 Full Review Brianna R Absolutely loved it I didn't even fall asleep once. I hope there is a part two! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/20/25 Full Review Erv B Phenomenal story, great acting from the entire cast, and done under $100k budget. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/18/25 Full Review Sandra G This movie gives audience a good hard look at how greed can destroy lives. The suspense and danger keeps you fully engaged and anticipating what the next move will be. This is a character-based thriller, and neither the characters nor the thrills disappoint. Producers, Writers, Directors, Cast, and Crew definitely earned 5 Stars with this one. Can’t wait for part two.
