Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times High Season is an example of a rare species: the intelligent silly movie. Rated: 3/4 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Rene Jordan El Nuevo Herald (Miami) Despite its absurdity, High Season doesn't bore. The result is a mishmash of a film. Alain E They recruited some pretty big names for this mess. I happen to be Greek and I can testify, one this is not typical Greek music that is featured and second the attitude towards tourism was and is extremely positive. The position of Irene Pappas’ character would never have any influence in a place like Rhodes. The supposedly expensive ancient vase also seems fake. Obviously, even someone as intelligent as the late Mr Ebert cannot have intimate knowledge of a foreign society. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/23/25 Full Review Steve D Even its best actors seem to be mugging, Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/24 Full Review Audience Member A charming enough tale of expat and vacationing Brits on a Greek isle, but the trouble and strife stories behind them lack substance. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member I guess a lot of people have missed this movie and if you love Greece you will love this Movie - set on Rhodes and with an all star cast with great laughs and good moral storyline.. Do not miss this! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Somewhere between a 5/10 and 6/10, this dramedy veers off into several directions with bits about espionage, art, the jet set, tourism, and Greek politics. The result is a bit too mishmash to be recommendable. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
