This is the pulse-pounding final chapter, as one last battle is waged among earth's immortals -- and the fate of mankind rests in the balance. The time is the year 2000, and by now Kell has become the most invincible immortal ever, amassing the supernatural strength of the 600 immortals he has killed over the centuries. Kell is ready to win the game at any cost, and the only thing that stands in his way is the continued existence of Duncan and Connor Macleod.

Critics Consensus

The fourth and supposedly last Highlander movie is a confusing mess, complete with bad acting and dialogue.

Lisa Schwarzbaum Entertainment Weekly Rated: D+ Sep 7, 2011 Full Review Kevin Thomas Los Angeles Times Highlander: Endgame looks sensational, moves like lightning. But its script (by Joel Soisson) makes no pretense about being logical or even comprehensible. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 15, 2002 Full Review Tim Cogshell Boxoffice Magazine Highlander: Endgame is truer to the original than the sequels, but it plays more like a television program than a theatrical release, which will matter little to the die-hard fans. Jeff D Highlander > Final Dimension > End Game > The Quickening > The Source The TV series does the character building for Duncan MacLeod, and End Game does a fair job of building the other characters in this film (Jacob, Kate). The story is a good. Spoiler Alert: I didn’t care for the breaking of immortal rules. Fighting on holy ground and more than one-on-one immortal fights are broken throughout the film. Jacob Kell - there wasn’t enough backstory on how he went from a non-fighting priest to a master swordsman, all the while avoiding other immortals who could have probably taken him in his early days. In immortal terms, even Jacob, Connor, and Duncan are ‘young.’ Did Kell never meet Kurgan? They could have built up the antagonist in the TV series very easily, even if only to mention them by name. There wasn’t enough story about why other immortals worked with Jacob. Why would Jin Ke with so much honor do what he did? As always, the story around the last immortal/final prize changes movie to movie. How could Connor win the final prize in the first movie if he knew Duncan? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/23/24 Full Review David P Proof, that you can rely on a critics point of view, just as much as your neighbors. It's an opinion. Decent movie for the ending of the series for me. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/09/24 Full Review Steve D Unsatisfying end to the series. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/23/23 Full Review Awais S We want it back and we want to see Christopher Lambert back in movies, please Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/14/22 Full Review Will S We want it back and we want to see Christopher Lambert back in movies, please Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/14/22 Full Review Audience Member I really don't get it; it has been emphasizing the last immortal since the legendary original; why so many suddenly just pop up from thin air?
