Tatsuo (Kin'ya Kitaôji) is a temperamental lumberjack with a wife, children and a mistress (Kiwako Taichi). He also does his best to teach his apprentice (Ryota Nakamoto) his cruel methods. His village, where he hunts local wildlife and regularly cuts down trees, is being considered as the site for a splashy water park that would turn the quiet fishing town into a major tourist attraction. Tatsuo is enraged at the park officials, but later has a dangerous change of heart.
