Rose P The writers and makers of this film have zero respect for the audience. A complete mess of a film which is a shame because it could have been spectacular. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/02/23 Full Review clowny m firstly , im lost as to why theres NO reviews here ?? id def watch again at least once with fresh eyes personally .. but getting into it ,, honestly wast sure how to feel about it at first bc i usually scout tubi for what i call "shitty horror movies" bc i like watching low budget horrors with my eyes open for potential/hidden gems .. and i might have found one !! great quality , great story , the acting wasnt bad at all imo , and the title reference to the hippocampus (memory part of the brain) ?? thats so smart ?? and (spoilers) halfway thru the pieces come together and i went "oh no :( he just wanted her to remember :(" and then the END ??? or what i THOUGHT ?? was the end ?? THEN U REMEMBER THE BEGINNING AND IT LOOPS !! then the real end where the intentions and story overall come into question like ?? (end of spoiler) TBH i was surprised no wattpad girlies brought me here given the trope ?? main guy tom was literally so nice the whole movie considering the circumstance/narrative bc idc man i wouldve sucked it up and dealt bc damn !!!! idc what his intentions were he was treating her so gently and patiently the ENTIRE time :((( Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/24/23 Full Review Audience Member What a stupid silly plot line. It's just too silly to be in any way a positive experience to watch. Avoid. Also, awful dubbing. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review the s This is just like the Saw movie franchise if the Saw movies were worse than they already are. Sometimes you can tell a lot about a movie but just reading the plot. This is one of them. I figured it couldn't really be as bad as it sounded but it was way worse than that. To be honest, it was kind of hard to get through all the cliches of the first 20 minutes. The guy's voice? Come on. After that, it was equally hard to make it through the rest of the movie. How these films get made I will never, ever understand. I keep assuming they're a byproduct of a nation with way too many rich parents with bored offspring who want to be able to tel people that they're an ‘actor' or ‘director' and really if you have rich parents, that's quite easy. Just put together a movie that doesn't require a green light from anyone but daddy and you're good to go. The only tough part? You're not really an actor or a director, you're just a rich kid with too much time and not enough experience or drive. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Hippopotamus 14.2.21 4.5/0. I enjoyed this more than the last two films I watched, quite mesmerising. The ending had a feeling of stiltedness and a lack of closure, like an ongoing study. D.B. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review kait h So the audio is a HUGE issue. In film school I quickly learned good audio that's mismatched is worse than the audio straight from the camera's shitty built-in mic. (And that if your story is good enough, poor quality won't really matter anyway - including those pesky bandage continuity issues of being there in one shot and gone in the next.) The clearly mismatched voice over and folly audio work coming from a crisp booth with no ambient room sound really makes this hard to watch. Not so bad if you close you eyes but then you'd miss some "key" (I suppose) moments and the point of it being a FILM. The whole thing is only propelled by the interesting fact we have no inner monologue from the main characters. If she makes a new discovery we're not sure how she actually feels about it because she doesn't say anything. However, it is sullied by the fact that the entire situation is incredibly unbelievable. (Who wouldn't scream and cry upon realizing they don't know where they are, they've been kidnapped and injured, and are prisoner?) And his explanation was impossible and scientifically inaccurate. (But fun enough I suppose?) Another issue I had was the scenes and actions were juxtaposed with no real provocation every time so that was frustrating, feeling like I was being forcibly drug along in some mismatched editing rather than experiencing the disorientation from the characters perspective. Finally, the attempt at leaving things "stirringly open-ended" was really not deserved or understandable. (However I do appreciate the gasp at the second to last ending reveal that only could've been had with the clever lack of inner monologue for the audience.) *Side note: The acting was actually fairly good and I would've like to have seen them given a bit better material to work with.* All in all for a first feature length film trying to contain a story to mostly one room for, I assume, budget purposes and that limiting the creative propositions immensely - with some better audio work this could have been a sold three star b-flick. Which, for $5k and your first one, is pretty impressive if you look at all the other "filmmakers" out there. I hope to see more from this director and watch them flourish.
