It's a strong debut by Weekes and nails the essential part of a horror movie: the horror. Go to Full Review

The film has much to say about grief, guilt, assimilation and the on-going refugee crisis. And on top of all that, it's also a nifty nerve-jangler. Go to Full Review

This is exactly the type of storytelling that the horror genre excels at. It amplifies real human emotions and fears to the level of overload, resulting in a uniquely empathetic experience. Go to Full Review

A K @lasalebete 5d Brilliant commentary that I suppose can fly over other people's head, overall amazing acting, beautiful visuals and very evocative imagery. While the entire movie isn't all horror, the first part really gives us something to work with, with interesting creature designs, great suspense, and heavy leaning into African culture which is always a plus. For the second part, it becomes even more of a social commentary that is just as interesting while keeping important horrific elements to really drive it all in. The portrayal of the immigration system is horrifically true and daunting. I guess it's a movie that you have to watch with your brain on to fully appreciate, so I recommend finding something else to watch if you want to do it while double screening instagram (: and special kudos to Wunmi Mosaku which delivers in every fucking movie she's in!! See more Ryan F @FrostyJim 6d It was ok. Nothing special. Just a decent movie. See more Mike K @mikedking001 Dec 29 I just didn’t get it at all. See more Yaire t @Yairemovie Dec 6 This was single handedly the worst "horror" movie I have ever watched. Nothing was scary about it. Whole storyline was messed up, had no sequence of events that flowed naturally. Found it quite hard to watch just made it funny. See more gordonlevittsmith Nov 9 This was actually good. Definitely not a horror movie. But an exploration of sadness, depression and mental illness, very similar to Hereditary. See more Mason H Nov 1 This was one of the worst horror films I have ever had the displeasure of watching. This film made me dislike both of the main characters through their general unlikable nature, especially the wife who was just pretty horrible and it was not scary at all. Just seemed like a commentary on refugees struggling rather than a horror film. See more Read all reviews
