Meagan Navarro Bloody Disgusting It's a strong debut by Weekes and nails the essential part of a horror movie: the horror. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 2, 2021 Full Review Tim Grierson Screen International The film has much to say about grief, guilt, assimilation and the on-going refugee crisis. And on top of all that, it's also a nifty nerve-jangler. Feb 2, 2021 Full Review Robert Daniels Polygon His House is a terrifying debut that breathes a fresh voice into the haunted-house subgenre. Feb 2, 2021 Full Review Brandon Stanwyck InSession Film I cannot wait to see what director Remi Weekes does next. His House blew me away with how it successfully reinvents the haunted house story to explore the horrors of being an immigrant in a xenophobic world. Jul 16, 2024 Full Review Brittany Patrice Witherspoon Pop Culture Reviews His House transcends the meaning of true horror. Weekes’ ability to infuse terror realistically and with clairvoyance is a true delight. Rated: 4.5/5 Jul 14, 2024 Full Review Elisa Guimarães Collider His House is a Netflix horror film that goes beyond supernatural scares, exploring themes of grief, guilt, and the struggle to belong. joanne y more like a social lecture Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/22/24 Full Review Sambuddha B The insanely high RT score is what kept me watching till the end, hoping to find something good in this awfully shallow script. The only saving grace is the acting, but there is no movie to be seen here. This is a meeting that could have been an email. It might have worked as a short film, but someone decided this should drag on with endless jump scares over an hour that would feel like three. The relevance of the immigrant crisis, combined with white guilt is my only explanation for the existence of this movie. If you do want to see a good psychological horror on how one learns to live with their ghosts, go watch The Babadook. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/16/24 Full Review James P I don’t understand why this has such a high tomato score it’s seems RIGGED this movie imo SUCKS ending SUCKS just no smh 🤦🏻‍♂️ Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/24/24 Full Review Audience Member Excellent use of horror to tell an incredibly important story unfamiliar to most Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/18/24 Full Review Munkhchimeg T Very heartbroken and sad movie. Seemed very realistic movie. Good movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/14/24 Full Review Bahad j - [ ] It was a really good movie. Very instructive. I really liked it.
