In the near future, war and corruption have plagued America and turned it into a theocratic police state. Against the oppression, ordinary citizens have formed a group called The Resistance. One such member, Alegre Dyer, breaks out of political prison and reunites with her husband Ron and daughter Daria. On the run from the militia, the family takes shelter in a remote safe house. But their journey is far from over, as the house's dark past begins to eat away at Ron, and his earnest desire to keep his family safe is overtaken by something much more sinister.

One really has to dig into the surface of “History of Evil” to find the kernel of an idea that could have worked, and it’s quite bluntly just not even remotely worth the effort.

This movie was so bad……please skip watching this movie! I’m saving you precious time. 4th grade theater can do a better job acting. I’m almost positive the guy shot himself in the end because of how awful the movie was.

Keeping Expectations Extremely low is all you needed. History of Evil wasn't bad but three of the characters were just ridiculous bad, maybe the writing and the script has 60% of minor problems but the score was decent, unfortunately the kills were offscreen like 80's retro vibe, so this maybe a 4½ out of 10 to an 4 out of 10.

"History of Evil" boasts significant potential, drawing inspiration from Stephen King's "The Shining." The film excels in creating an eerie atmosphere with commendable cinematography and sound design. The actors deliver strong performances, enhancing the suspenseful narrative. However, the movie falters in its conclusion. The ending feels rushed and leaves many questions unanswered, undermining the buildup. Despite its promising start, the film's inability to deliver a satisfying resolution diminishes its overall impact. "History of Evil" offers a thrilling journey but ultimately fails to provide a fulfilling destination.

Slow burn near future civil war haunted house horror/thriller. Pretty boring to watch though, the scattered civil war stuff works better than whatever haunted house story was going on.
