Amber Wilkinson Eye for Film Ellwood's approach is comprehensive, although somewhat inevitably she gives prominence to Henley and Frey, who undoubtedly remain the twin forces driving the band. Rated: 4/5 May 25, 2015 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed Certainly not a perfect documentary, but it succeeds in being an engrossing and compelling look at the legendary band... May 23, 2013 Full Review Shaun Munro What Culture An efficient talking heads doc that celebrates the band without deigning to hagiography. Audience Member Best music documentary I have seen! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting movie, especially comparing it to Don Felder's book. He's right. A lot was left out. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member History of the Eagles (2013) ???? Exhilarating documentary explores The Eagles from Glenn Frey and Don Henley's early inspiration, discovering each other, conflicts, member changes, breakup, reunion, underrated final album (Long Road Out of Eden). With country backgrounds, perfected harmonies and damn good songwriting abilities, these young men had no idea they would become the most successful band of their time. Wait until you hear how the song "Life in the Fast Lane" came about. An important and captivating documentary deserving a "classic" reputation exploits one of America's greatest rock bands in such an interesting and potent way. And for three hour run time it goes by at an alarming speed. Live at The Capital Centre in 1977 is also first rate. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Really enjoyed this retrospective of the band. Lots of archival footage, including stuff the band recorded themselves. Always liked the music, which makes this feel more like a walk down memory lane. Fans of the band will appreciate a glimpse behind the curtain, to get a better sense of the turmoil that split the band, and their recent reunion success. Sad to think there will be no more chapters to Glenn Frey's opus. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Just watched this three hour plus documentary on the Eagles, one of America's greatest Rock and Roll bands. I enjoyed it but I felt Don Felder who had the longest tenure in the band other than Frey and Henley was treated unfairly. But, that's the ugly side of the music business. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a solid history of the Eagles, with plenty of band member interviews and stories about their success , breakup and reunion. I especially liked the inclusion of their solo careers! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
