Anton Bitel Little White Lies the direction here is unflashy and workaday, even pedestrian, and much of the dialogue... comes across as over-earnest and stilted. Nonetheless, like its antihero, it conceals beneath its blandly wholesome exterior some shocking transgressions. Nov 27, 2019 Full Review Rocco T. Thompson Rue Morgue Magazine A sun-dappled, motorized amble to depravity and death, Hitch Hik to Hell is primo California scuzz from the waning days of widespread hitchhiking. Jul 3, 2024 Full Review Chris Alexander Alexander On Film By conventional standards, the shoestring-budgeted HITCH HIKE TO HELL isn't a particularly well produced work. But man, does it pack a disorienting, primal punch. Jan 7, 2020 Full Review Chris Ward Flickering Myth Hitch Hike to Hell is a sleazy 1970s exploitation movie that offers up very little from its basic premise and does exactly what it says in the title. delysid d christ this is boring Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/17/18 Full Review Audience Member If High School students made a movie it would turn out to be something like this. There's nothing of any nastiness here. The tad bit of exploitation comes right near the beginning. The rest is on the level of a TV movie. Gotta love Howard playing basketball with the girls. There's so much filler throughout, it becomes comical. Yet, near the end, the film surprises us. There's a couple bold choices relating to the last murder that I was not expecting. Considering the final shot, the director was clearly a fan of Psycho. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Bad exploitation that was shot in 67, saw a brief theatrical run in 1970 & then resurfaced in 1977. It should have stayed buried. Mama's boy's sister runs away so he takes it upon himself to rape & kill hitch hikers in his dry cleaning delivery van. Russell 'The Professor' Johnson investigates. Robert Gribbin as our psycho du jour is quite laughable & he should just calm down, have another root beer & sniff some modeling glue. Trash like this was common place on the grindhouse circuit & Hitch Hike to Hell brings nothing original or interesting to the genre. It's done better in films like Killer's Delight & even then Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Watchable but pretty samey throughout though the lead actor does give a decent performance. As for the soundtrack - I swear ive heard some of it somewhere before. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Pretty good, with an excellent performance from Robert Gribbin. There's a rather good soundtrack, some fantastically awkward dialogue between the detectives, and a blindingly amazing scene with Don Lewis as the affectionately credited Gay Boy. Great stuff. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Wierd, sleazy, low budget... But then what do you want from Harry Novak? Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
