SurvivorAlways 7 @MyLife4Me79 5d The beginning felt really rushed and there are a lot of plot points that feel like they get the very surface level attention. It’s as if someone did a google search on the facts and the chronological order of events and wrote a very simple script around it. The writing was lacking and the directing didn’t help much. The actors did their best with the material they were presented. I would like to see the rise of Hitler covered in bigger budget feature film directed by someone like Stephen Spielberg or Christopher Nolan. I feel like there are lessons to be learned by seeing where Hitler learned and absorbed so much hate and how he managed to get most of an entire nation to follow him into the depths of hell. This movie is okay but it feels like an excerpt from an encyclopedia turned into a film student’s first production. Not great See more Frau S @RT28651157 Jul 17 Ich denke einige hier verstehen nicht was der Film ist und will. Ich denke ich werde die DVD für den Geschichtsunterricht kaufen See more Js D @RT49360709 Jul 6 i think they accidentally framed him as being evil See more Dennis K. @dragonintherain Jun 24 Ridiculous portrayal of Hitler. A bit like the way Disney portrays evil. As mentioned elsewhere the historian involved had his name removed because it's ridiculously inaccurate. Hitler was in WW1 a highly decorated and brave soldier, popular with his fellow soldiers. Others of that time, Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini were just as blood thirsty. The Japanese maybe more ruthless. Having said that I like it as a drama. All of us can fall for anything if not aware. Ernst Udet a pilot in WW1 and a Nazi in WW2 said "to be a fighter pilot you have to make a deal with the devil, just make sure you don't get swallowed". Apply that to a political ideology. See more Dennis B @TRUEBLUEFOOL Jan 14 I found the liberties taken by the film makers distasteful. I mean hitler was a terrible person. This we can all agree on. He was largely successful selling greetings cards and building diagrams. Enough to pay for hotels. He was rejected by art school that should be enough. Hitler loved animals more than people and would never hurt one. Also he was a distinguised war hero. These are facts. The movie turns him into a whiny person who could have never come to power as a leader of any country. He was overly charismatic and an excellent orator. To get to power he downplayed the race card until he achieved ultimate power. Then he showed his monstrous side. I mean it was always their via mein kampf. But few read it until he was in power. Why can't we have accuracy In movies anymore. Even the historian who the few accurate facts came from made the movie remove his name. That's pretty bad as is this movies accuracy. These are my opinions. Truth is always better than lies. See more Quandale T @RT95089428 07/25/2025 A compelling insight into how Adolf Hitler rose to power. It humanizes Hitler unlike any other film can See more Read all reviews
