A frustrating mix of comedy and drama: not funny enough to solicit any real laughs, nor sufficiently dramatic to forge strong connections with the characters. Go to Full Review

It’s all fairly predictable, including the revelation that Agnes likes a smoke and a drink in times of stress, but there’s plenty of fun to be found in watching Davis and Weaver negotiate the differences between two old friends... Go to Full Review

Like the best coming-of-age stories, it understands that growing up isn’t about getting older; it’s about learning when it’s time to let go. Go to Full Review

Individually, we've seen Miriam Margolyes, Jacki Weaver and Judy Davis in comedy roles, especially Margolyes, but as a trio, they're just so enjoyable, riffing off each other. Go to Full Review

While Holy Days never quite reaches the feel-good highs set by the Kiwi classic Hunt for the Wilderpeople, it does make the most of its own modest merits. Go to Full Review

Its spiritual themes skillfully blending Christianity and Māori symbolism, the film is a giddy, joyful ride graced by the luminous presence of a vintage 1965 Holden station wagon, which will please latent motorheads no end. Go to Full Review

M Mar 31 A very good movie - heart warming, funny, some very good "reminders" (life lessons) for all. If you're hyper religious, don't take offense - remember it's just a movie that reminds us all that we're human and in need of some type of redemption. See more Eugene B Mar 30 Wildly fun, inspiring and sweet!! See more GuyFiery Mar 29 Judy Davis and Jacki Weaver still have what it takes. Cute movie. Nice New Zealand landscapes See more Brad S @RT05299367 5d Adorable little film for the whole family. Their world is delightful & so much fun - a feel good time for all. See more Howie B @Howie10 Jul 29 Disappointing given the array of talent on board. Tired storyline (the drunk and betting priest, really?) and too much religious nonsense for this viewer. Missed so many marks and comedic delivery apart from Miriam Margolyes was just not there. The child lead didn’t do anything to aid the movie. Even the director taking a role couldn’t save this one. So many better films on offer at present. See more Deb D @Durodeb May 22 A very sweet, heartwarming film. Nice to see at a time in the world that seems so dark and sad. Lovely performance by the three female leads and the young boy. Can’t beat the NZ scenery! Good on the Canadian and NZ backers for helping to get this one made! See more Read all reviews
