Actor-filmmaker Nat Boltt keeps things sunny and colourful, finding humour in the characters' sparky personalities and earthy emotion in the situations. And the movie provides three veteran actresses with colourful, meaty roles to sink their teeth into. Go to Full Review

GuyFiery 9h Judy Davis and Jacki Weaver still have what it takes. Cute movie. Nice New Zealand landscapes See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 7h Holy Days feels like it wants to capture the same feel-good comedy energy as Sister Act, but without the charm, music, or strong storytelling to really pull it off. The premise has potential, but the movie feels rushed from start to finish, like it is forcing its way through a story that was never fully developed. The screenplay is one of the biggest problems. It bounces all over the place, relying too heavily on quick jokes and random comedy moments without building real connection between the characters. Because of that, nothing feels grounded, and the emotional beats never land the way they should. Even the feel-good ending feels forced instead of earned, and a random death that should have carried emotional weight ends up feeling awkward and strangely flat. Overall, it is not completely unwatchable, but it is a very one-dimensional comedy that feels more forgettable than memorable. See more Laura M @RT02037220 10h Holy Days completely exceeded my expectations. It’s one of those films that pulls you in right away and keeps you emotionally invested the entire time. I found myself laughing out loud one minute and genuinely tearing up the next, which is rare. What really stood out to me was how real everything felt. The acting was incredible and made me feel so connected to the characters in a way that never felt forced or overdone. The storytelling had an honesty to it that made everything hit deeper, and you can tell how much care and effort went into every detail. It’s the kind of movie that stays with you after you leave the theatre. I would absolutely recommend seeing it while it’s still in theatres.
