Nell Minow AWFJ.org Directors Ljubo Stefanov and Tamara Kotevska show the same infinite patience and care in telling the story of their subject, a Macedonian beekeeper named Hatidze, that Hatidze shows in caring for her bees. Oct 21, 2021 Full Review Bilge Ebiri Spirituality & Health This movie about Europe's last wild beekeeper is complex, resonant, and visually magnificent. Mar 20, 2020 Full Review David Stratton The Australian As fly-on-the-wall documentaries go, Honeyland is a particularly fine example. There is no narration: the rather sad, but enveloping, story is told in purely visual terms, and the photography is outstanding. Mar 6, 2020 Full Review Paul Kanieski KSQD Community Radio Honeyland ... gives us a privileged look into the life of someone we will never meet, it transports us to a place we will never visit, and it’s the distillation of the environmental and social problems that we must somehow solve if humanity is to survive. Jul 19, 2023 Full Review Greg Carlson Vague Visages In her mysterious way, Hatidze’s character is as gorgeous and singular as the breathtaking images collected by cinematographers Fejmi Daut and Samir Ljuma. Jun 5, 2023 Full Review Jane Freebury The Canberra Times (Australia) Haditze's character and situation may not appeal to everyone, but those who tune in to it will recognise that Honeyland is a rare achievement. Nicole It’s an interesting movie/documentary.. The captions didn’t always work so you don’t know what they’re saying.. thank you. It would be good for kids in the states to watch so they can see how people live in other parts of the world. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/09/24 Full Review Matt M One of my most favorite documentaries of all time. Beautifully filmed and compelling drama in a transportative film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/24 Full Review donnie m watching this now-it sure puts things in perspective when you think you have it bad-1 star off for the CRUELTY to animals Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/05/23 Full Review M R Heartwarming and beautiful movie that will sure to make you shed some tears Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/18/23 Full Review Mila K I cried my eyes out. The movie is so beautifull. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/23/23 Full Review Ann S A beautiful, slow, quiet view of extreme poverty and the saving of wild bees. It leaves the viewer wondering was it scripted? What did they do to help her mother's wound? I loved the lesson of take only half and leave half so the species can continue without harm. It is an Indigenous message likely handed down and a truism that if ignored will end in our peril. I loved reading later that the filmmakers spent 3 years just watching and taping and did use their funds to help the woman survive. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews
