Granted, the gags don't always come to fruition and the allegory is laid on a little too thickly in parts, but Lavie has proven that she isn't a flash in the pan, but here to stay.

Whilst the events and tone are heightened to provide maximum entertainment, there is a refreshing honesty that shines through. This comes from a sharp, witty script from writer-director Tayla Lavie and a palpable chemistry between the two leads.

Honeymood is a film that has some fine performance and a few laughs but mostly it just happens to be one of those films that come out of a one-line idea that fails to compensate or revels in its chaos.
