Martin Stang (John Hargreaves) has emerged as something of a Robin Hood in his native Australia -- a folk hero to the people, but nonetheless an enemy of the state. A robber with more than a little charm, Martin winds up in a New South Wales prison after one of his jobs goes south. Once he is locked up, he devises a grand plan to get back on the outside: convince the authorities he is blind, so that he can avoid hard labor in jail and be released as a non-threatening presence to the public.
