Roger Moore Orlando Sentinel Rated: 1/5 May 13, 2009 Full Review Tim Grierson Screen International Filmmaker Eli Roth tries to enliven the formula, but this sequel loses the grim surprise of the original without adding much new in terms of plotting or gory set pieces. Jul 23, 2008 Full Review J. R. Jones Chicago Reader Roth's dark humor and lacerating view of human weakness sometimes suggest George Romero; what he lacks is Romero's stubborn belief in personal morality. Oct 23, 2007 Full Review Trace Thurman Horror Queers Podcast Unfairly written off as a cheap and misogynistic cash-grab when it's actually a feminist horror film with a smart, relatable and queer final girl. Rated: 4.5/5 Dec 30, 2020 Full Review Scott Weinberg TheHorrorShow A tight-fisted slow burn that whacks you in face with two or three really horrifying sequences. Valok P While the gore is amplified and the shocks are more abundant, Hostel Part II follows the same narrative structure, and characterizations from it predecessor; it tries nothing to better itself. The only respite being the vile brutality, for those wanting a bloody tint to their horror. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/30/24 Full Review Lloyd S This one was pretty good, slow in the beginning, but then it vecome interesting. Love to watch some dumb b*thes getting slaughtered in a good horror movie. The blood shower torture was very creative and cool. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/24/24 Full Review James M A real letdown from the first installment, which actually was a bit sick, but it had some creative aspects to it with some good horror/ Gore elements but this one is really lame with long stretches with nothing happening, very few moments of pure terror and overall just completely dull and a waste of time. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/16/24 Full Review Ashley M Boring and predictable. They gave away the ending halfway through the movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/03/24 Full Review Adam H I'll never understand the hate for this movie and it's predecessor. It's a creative film that continues the story of the original in a clever way with relatable characters, solid storyline, acting, locations, visuals and and generates a legitimate sense of dread while making you laugh. It exceeded my expectations as a sequel to a movie I liked quite a bit. That's not easy to pull off. I'd recommend this movie to anyone who enjoyed the original Hostel. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/24 Full Review Larry K Not as good as the first one, but it was fun to watch Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/06/24 Full Review Read all reviews
