Luke Buckmaster Guardian There’s quite a few interesting nuggets strewn across a 104-minute runtime that does feel a little chunky towards the end. Rated: 3/5 Oct 22, 2023 Full Review Geordie Gray The Australian This sunny, classy documentary — which takes us through the entire three-decade career of the band — is just the tonic we need right now. Rated: 7.5/10 Nov 13, 2023 Full Review Leigh Paatsch Herald Sun (Australia) It does convey the full scale of the group’s achievement in becoming Australia’s biggest gift to the children of the world. Rated: 3/5 Nov 8, 2023 Full Review Johnny Loftus Decider The Wiggles we come to know in Hot Potato – from the OG foursome to all of the new members through the years – already exist at a level of fame that makes the group’s biography arc toward standard issue, albeit with a large dose of friendliness. Jeff M My three-year-old great-nephew has outgrown The Wiggles. I have not. And I secretly long for the day when he realizes the error of his ways and asks me to do the propeller with him just one more time. I am a late convert to the Wiggles and started watching once Simon, Lachy and my beloved Emma joined Anthony, the only original Wiggle still active. So not only was this a very entertaining documentary for me, but it was also quite informative as to the origins of the group and the original members. While the behind-the-scenes stories aren't as juicy as others we're used to seeing in this type of movie, we still witness depression, death, marriage, divorce, heart attacks and Dorothy the Dinosaur. And while they are far from perfect, they all seem to have genuine hearts for children and appear to be really nice people - that's gratifying and heartwarming to see! If you haven't seen the Wiggles or aren't fans of their work, I don't know if this will particularly change your view or encourage you to check them out. But I still think you might enjoy this documentary simply as a story of good people accomplishing the extraordinary. I would have loved to see a bit more about the new generation of Wiggles and some of the flack they got for wanting to become more diverse in their casting, but maybe we'll get a sequel somewhere down the road. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/24 Full Review Hannah W A viewer from the UK so some of the things we knew and lots we didn't. My daughters had loved them growing up and that held a special place. Now I think I'm the bigger fan!! Loved this and so glad someone thought to make this, get everyone involved. Just brilliant. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/26/23 Full Review JENA F Anthony Field is a GENIUS!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/02/23 Full Review Ragan B My children grew up in the golden age of The Wiggles. My son got to "wake up Jeff" in person before a live concert once upon a time and it was evident that the guys care about the kids. This documentary is tastefully done. You get to see that The Wiggles as real people, but without any of the gory details. Who knew tactful documentaries were still a thing? I am not familiar with the newer Wiggles cast, but I was touched by Lachlan Gillespie comment regarding his divorce from the Yellow Wiggle, He said, "The Wiggles has always been so professional. Everything they do is for children. I am absolutely proud of myself for doing that at all times." Wow! Who knew personal integrity was still a thing? Bravo Purple Wiggle and to the Wiggles franchise in general for creating an environment where kindness is taught by example. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/29/23 Full Review Michael W This showbiz documentary was really good. Greg Page, Murray Cook, Jeff Fatt, Anthony Field, Emma Watkins, and the entire crew did a fantastic job on telling the story of how the Wiggles got started and how popular it is to this day. It's an amazing story of bringing excitement to children. If you haven't seen this documentary yet, check it out sometime. It's a definite must see even if you're not a fan of the Wiggles.
