Lucius Gore ESplatter Slow moving but oddly entertaining, 'House of Death' remains a fun time capsule from the slasher era. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 7, 2009 Full Review Read all reviews

Sebastian L House of Death, or "Death Screams" which is the original title, feels like somebody wrote a script of the wrong parts of a story, and then somebody shot the wrong parts of that script. Nothing happens for the greater part of the runtime and when it does it's mostly underwhelming. This cast deserves a better movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/24/24 Full Review Audience Member If you really love golden-age slasher films and always crave more, then you will probably enjoy House of Death (as I did). If not, then I will say it is a slow, badly shot, poorly lighted horror film that doesn't have near enough death scenes. Most of the death happens way too late in the film to keep the viewer interested along the way, and the murky lighting robs everything of its intended punch.
