the central figures, unerringly full of gumption, fail to light any fires under Rodney Bennett's ho-hum direction. Neither Gonet nor Lombard establishes audience rapport.

Great costumes and idea but the sisters always blowing up got annoying. So sad because this could have been great if the sisters cared more for their business than their love life. It wasn't the actors fault they had bad scripts they were good at acting.

I had never heard of this series before I came across it weeks ago. My husband and I have been enjoying it immensely. It has a "taste" Downton Abbey in as far as the setting goes. The characters play their parts beautifully. It is worth giving it a try if you can get it on your screen. It will keep your interest. I've binged through the first two seasons and am now about to finish. A give a big thumbs up and wish more people knew about this show and would take time to give their reviews. Good series.
