sean s Dark, dingy photography with a lame script and bad acting from the main character: Desi Arnaz Jr. Several movie greats show up Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Vincent Price and John Carradine, but could not save this movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review martin a An outstanding horror about a writer who is offered a large payment if he stays in a house and writes a novel in a few days, however former occupants turn up to celebrate an anniversary, and one by one die, The twist, in the end, is great. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member 'House of the Long Shadows' is a wonderful, underrated gothic horror-comedy gem that perfectly plays to the strengths of every actor. It’s tonally all-over-the-place and features plenty of leaps in logic, but it’s an entertaining little mystery-farce that also makes a perfect last hurrah for these genre legends. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/03/20 Full Review Bernard K Idiotic. One ridiculous thing after the next, none funny and just nonsensical. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/19/20 Full Review Audience Member Great to see all of the masters of horror gathered together in one sitting. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Finally Christopher Lee's character gets Peter Cushing's guy for once. Even tho it was alll a part of a bigger ruse (they're all just characters in the lodger's novel), its still fun to finally see Lee get the best of him. Add Vincent Price and you have a great campy horror fest. Everyone should at least watch it once; just for the awesomeness of Cushing, Carradine, Price and Lee in one film. James Kendrick Q Network Film Desk Director Peter Walker knows his way around shadows and suspense and violence and intrigue, but any time the film demands something resembling ordinary human interaction, the seams start to show. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 27, 2024 Full Review Alan Jones Starburst The ingredients successfully come together under Peter Walker who invests the strikingly lit proceedings with mood and atmosphere. Jul 29, 2022 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews Too bad the update doesn't come off as good as it should have been, though it comes through as a campy romp and has a few wonderful moments.
