Audience Member I'm a teacher who has promised to post student reviews. This one is by 7th grader, A.G.: I think this movie was really good and the plot was quite interesting. The movie did a great job of making the viewer jump to conclusions, then be surprised by something unexpected. I gave it five stars because everything about it was great. Even though it was set in South Korea and the whole movie was in Korean, I could easily understand the plot and what was going on. In the movie, there's a little girl who is homeless, along with her mom and little brother. The little girl sees an expensive, but not impossible to buy, house. Then she sees a missing dog poster and the reward is the same amount as the house. The girl's birthday is in a month, but she lives in a van. She wants to have a birthday party, but that's just not possible without a house. The girl and her friend steal a dog and try to convince the owner to put up missing pet posters with a reward. The owner does and then the girl has to bring the dog back without seeming suspicious. She succeeds and gets the money, but does she spend it on the house? Beside the plot, the movie shows bits and pieces of Korean culture. For example, you get a pretty good ideas about common Korean cuisine. Also, I think they had a pretty big budget for this movie due to the great quality of the film. Personally, I think it was a cute movie. I love how the children were so innocent, they really didn't know that they were doing something bad. All the little girl wanted was to have her birthday party in her own house. In all honesty though, some parts didn't make sense. Nonetheless, it was still a great movie that the whole family can watch. I encourage everyone to give it a chance.
