Stefan Birgir Stefans sbs.is It's quite hard to pinpoint if Howling III is a bad film or a good one. Like the second in the series, it's mostly just a weird one. In the end, the only question that matters is: Is it entertaining? And the answer is yes. Yes, it is. Rated: 2.5/5 Mar 8, 2021 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy This is a painfully slipshod production, with its eccentricity (werewolf nuns! pregnant lycanthropes with kangaroo-like pouches! Barry Humphries in full Dame Edna regalia!) the only thing saving it from complete ruin. Rated: 1.5/4 Jan 25, 2019 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed It wants to be a psychological thriller, a horror romance, a satire of horror movies, and a werewolf picture all in one and fails to deliver on these aspects two fold. Dec 13, 2015 Full Review Andrew L. Urban Urban Cinefile The third of the Howling series is also the least reverential to Joe Dante's original horror movie, with Philippe Mora's tongue firmly in his cheek from the opening credits Jan 16, 2009 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Rated: 2/5 Aug 31, 2005 Full Review Scott Weinberg eFilmCritic.com Incomprehensible werewolf awfulness. Wormhunter89YT The film compare to novelization which bares no resemblance to the novel unlike the film,it explains 3 way a werewolf can be killed,a silver bullet,2 fire and 3 each other, what do we get in the film are not exactly werewolves we get marsupial which are not wolves species,it's an oh okay film to pass the time 3 stars. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/24 Full Review Adrian M The Marsupials? Really? How the hell is a werewolf a marsupial? These ones were supposedly based on the Thylacine (Tasmanian Tiger), which at least is consistent with werewolf's mythological origins, with being bitten not turning you into a werewolf, and they die just like how anyone else dies. Great! So not really werewolves but marsupial-humans. So what are they doing in this franchise? Gone are the sex from the 2nd one and the horror from the 1st one, and now we have what is basically a weird kind of love story of sorts. Aww. I mean, it's a novel idea, and if this was a standalone movie and not the third of something, I could potentially get into it, but these are not werewolves. It was a bit strange to see white people acting like Aboriginals, but there was at least one Aboriginal amongst them so I suppose it's not cultural appropriation? Though it still kind of is? It's also potentially Ozploitation. I am not sure though. I will defer to an expert on the topics. It was very much a B movie and it didn't attempt to be anything else. At least it was genuine and it was definitely better than the silly sexiness of the 2nd, but it was nowhere near the 1st one. This is a franchise that is eating itself. You could tell that it was struggling to be itself. But it was at least vaguely interesting so I gave it a 5/10. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/25/23 Full Review ryan s 1.5/5. Incomprehensible and utterly bizarre. I appreciate how weird this movie is, but there are some really boring parts and most of it makes zero sense. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Another gonzo foray into off-the-wall werewolf stories. It tries a few interesting things, but is way too wacky to be taken seriously. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/12/19 Full Review joel c Haha this movie is so bad its good! its a time waster for me and no its definitely not that good of a movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Worst movie I have ever seen... and I've seen some bad ones. Would give it 0 but this app won't let me.
