Sarah Vincent Cambridge Day the film relies on stale Satanic and witch-coven horror tropes borrowed heavily from Roman Polanski’s “Rosemary’s Baby” (1968) and Robert Eggers’ “The Witch” (2015). Rated: 1/4 Aug 16, 2023 Full Review Payton McCarty-Simas Film Inquiry While its ambitions exceed its scope, often to the detriment of a fully fleshed-out narrative and satisfying character development, it delivers several effective, psychedelic scenes of suspense and an enjoyable atmosphere of supernatural anxiety. Nov 2, 2022 Full Review Michael Talbot-Haynes Film Threat While this adaptation isn’t in the same league as Gordon’s or Richard Stanley’s Lovecraft work, it does have the hideous glow that horror fans will be drawn to. Rated: 7/10 Jul 24, 2022 Full Review Abbie Bernstein Assignment X In some ways looks and feels like it might have been made in the ‘70s. Specifically, the film demonstrates that era’s disregard as to how disparate elements do or don’t fit together. Rated: C+ Jul 20, 2022 Full Review MontiLee Stormer MovieReelist.com There’s a chance none of the loose bits and bobs are filler and they’re supposed to be structural plot points, but in the hands of director Bobby Easley, they appear as throwaway bits of cotton shoved in drafty corners where the joins don’t quite meet. Rated: 2/5 Jul 7, 2022 Full Review John Townsend Starburst Easley takes every opportunity to show and linger on female flesh. It feels seedy, and you sense Lovecraft would be unlikely to approve. John H For a cheezy movie, the Witch House does a decent job of keeping the viewer interested. The acting and special effectts aren't where the need to be, but it is worth watching if you have time to kill. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/01/24 Full Review Omg P This movie introduces original bad backstory, original bad characters, budget visuals, bad camera and even worse sound. Episode from Masters of Horror takes some liberties, but is waaay better then this. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/29/24 Full Review Read all reviews
