Audience Member A bit unpolished, at times it drags, but that's a Viking life for you as the raiders get raided. Essentially a Viking-themed action-revenge-thriller with an interesting score. Halfway through the film adds some interesting elements that I didn't see coming. Everything worked and things didn't seem particularly overlong. Films I'd liken this to in terms of vibe are Paul Verhoeven's FLESH+BLOOD (without the debaucherous streak), and Jodorowsky's EL TOPO (without the surrealism). The Dollars trilogy has influenced this film greatly, and I honestly did pick up a bit of a Kurosawa vibe as well (especially in the 2nd half) so it was funny to note in another user's review that Kurosawa & Leone were stated influences. The plot is quite simple but the action isn't too bad & main villain is fantastic. Beautiful cinematography too, really stunning. Icelandic film was far different (and better) than what I was expecting; partly due to a unique look. Worth seeking out.
