Synopsis
Although Huey P. Long (Edward Asner) is on his way to the top, his ascent up the ladder of Louisiana politics is accompanied by controversy and scandal. Despite this, his thunderous personality, his fiery speeches, his championing of the poor and his populist slogan "Every Man a King" help him capture the public imagination during the Great Depression. Progressing from governor to senator, Long may have a shot at the presidency. But then an old foe pays him a fatal visit.
