Police Lt. Pharaon De Winter (Emmanuel Schotte) isn't himself after the rape and murder of a young girl. As he follows false leads, he continues to go through the motions of life, wondering whether humanity really exists. He still gardens, and still spends time with his neighbor Domino (Severine Caneele) and her boyfriend, Joseph (Philippe Tullier).
