jon h The temptation is obviously to give it zero stars, and it would be warranted. However, this is one of those that is so bad it's almost good. I found it funnier than a lot of films that actually claim to be a comedy. Who on earth decided to cast the actor who plays the main protagonist? Wow, his acting, if you can call it that, is something to behold. The film ends abruptly and the music drowns out his final line, which in a funny way seems appropriate for the film itself and his truly dreadful performance. Again I found myself laughing, and that's exactly what this film is about. If you're looking for a film that actually delivers and is scary…. No, probably best to avoid. But if like me you get a weird enjoyment from abysmal, shambolic attempts at making something vaguely credible….. you'll have a laugh at this. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Well Hydra's crap, but I mean, big shock, right? The titular beast doesn't look very good, but at least it's on-screen. None of the characters are likeable, and I'll literally never watch this again (and I certainly won't be recommending it here or anywhere else), but I didn't hate it, and this sort of thing is often very hateable. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Sci-fi/monster movie telling us the story of a group of people held prisoner on a boat. A few millionaires pay through their noses to hunt and kill ex-cons in a desert island. When the ship crew starts to disappear they realize then that the island is in fact inhabited by the mythological triple headed snake Hydra, as soon as you cut one of the heads off two more reproduce. I don't have a lot to say about this except that it is perhaps the cheapest movie I have ever seen, the special computer effects are bad, the acting appalling and the locations really low quality. They didn't have enough money to go to a real jungle so they seem to have filmed the movie in the local park, you can see houses and fences in the supposedly "desert island", people see a snake with three heads and instead of running away they remain still a fire a small pistol that it wouldn't even tickle her. It feels like a group of bad actors went to central Park and shot a movie that weekend they had off from the other/real jobs. It is so bad it is actually funny. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Hydra was almost a good movie... almost. ;-) Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Thisn film is horrible! It's not like mega-shark versus giant octopus where it's so bad it's funny, this is just crap! I watched it once, it had a ridicuously long title sequence, the special effects are just stupid, I mean they've been really lazy on the hydra design, and the story is predictable and stupid. Also, much of the gore is extremely fake and unnecessary! To sum up how bad this is, most guys don't scream AFTER their head has been bitten off, do us a favour those who created this film, and try and pay attention to some of the more important details. One last thing to add, the noises the hydra makes have been pinched straight from the hydra from God of war 1 the game, if you play it, you'll see what I mean! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member If I could give less than one half I would but it was so awful I highly recommend seeing it!! Just watching their breath when they talk on what's suppose to be a tropical island is awesome!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
