Yasser Medina Cinefilia Antonioni presents it as a social anthology in a psychological key to examine the dissatisfaction and existential anguish of modern youth in the post-war period, but for some reason I perceive a lack of verve in the stories. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 6/10 May 11, 2022 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com It's a rather lukewarm trio of segments based on 'ripped-from-the headline' scenarios concerning privileged youths and their apathetic ambivalence toward their fellow man, supposedly caused from growing up through war. Rated: 2/5 Nov 4, 2020 Full Review Dwight MacDonald Esquire Magazine Three episodes illustrating the nihilistic violence of postwar youth; journalistic; only the last, a neat little British comédie noire, comes off. Jul 23, 2019 Full Review Michael E. Grost Classic Film and Television Inventive film with brilliant photography and original drama. Nov 28, 2015 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com In the best Antonioni way, the humanity of select moments shine through, but profound patience is required to manage his studious approach. Rated: B Sep 27, 2014 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com This early Antonioni is not one of his stronges't: Composed of three segments, it's a rather schematic, message picture about lost youth. Audience Member Antonioni brings his formidable talents to these three simple stories of postwar upper-middle class youth who turn to crime out of ennui and/or a desire for prestige. The first story, set in France, is by far the best, IMO. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews
