Glenn Kenny RogerEbert.com I found this a less-than-fulfilling cinematic experience. But I have to give Morgenthaler credit for what we used to call "moxie"-whatever the hell he's doing, or thinks he's doing, he's fully committed to it ... Rated: 2/4 Jun 12, 2015 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times A troubling example of what can only be called a fertility thriller. Jun 11, 2015 Full Review Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times Writer-director Anders Morgenthaler's conclusion comes far too hastily and haphazardly, with a disregard for plot details or plausible storytelling. Jun 11, 2015 Full Review Mae Abdulbaki Punch Drunk Critics A highly intriguing film and fresh take on a subject that is always sad to watch. Audience Member Very irritating but had to watch what happened in the end...my ending would be that she stopped at the store for baby formula FIRST then hit the friggin' highway outta that town..take Christian with her..she moves to another country..put Christian in rehab and they all live happily ever after..Instant FAM!! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member The storyline was pretty good for the most part, but I could have used a little more action and less R rated scenarios. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Strange film. Strange people. Rather experimental film about a woman, a bit insane but rich and in high position, wanting a baby. She tries in different ways and it all fails. Only a miracle could do it and that is what happens. Maybe it is some sort of fairy tale for post-menopausal women. Some events in the film may have happen in real life, and that is sure sad. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Stephen R You'd be best ignoring the reviews of these misguided critics who are more content watching the latest Star Wars... This is one of Kim's best works; it's the story of a a woman terrorized by her own maternal drive, artfully framed by beautiful composition and immersed in a horrifying aesthetic. If you prefer your films thought-provoking and visually stimulating, this is your pick. If you like your cinema like you like your television, you better move along. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/11/15 Full Review Audience Member Gripping, original, intense, thought-provoking, challenging, suspenseful: if you are willing to enter the dark world of this film on its terms, you will have a powerful and disturbing experience. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Disappointing. A desperate woman wanting a kid she can't have and goes out to "rescue" one. She picks up a puking small person to assist her and the drama develops into more rubbish. Note how she drives while the steering wheel is upside down. There are many other goofs in this film.
