Tomris Laffly RogerEbert.com An amiable yet unambitious and tonally shaky Tinseltown-set romantic comedy. Rated: 2.5/4 Apr 29, 2022 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) Compelling mainly for demonstrating that an actual human life could be hewn from so many hoary movie clichés. Rated: 2/5 Apr 29, 2022 Full Review Simon Abrams TheWrap Bats at the sort of low-hanging fruit that, given the right mood, could be of interest to anyone who enjoys watching cornball romantic comedies or even the embarrassing but compulsively watchable iAnd Just Like Thati revival. Apr 28, 2022 Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall Taking an earthy, realistic approach to both the imagery and the voiceover narration, writer-director Lisa Azuelos gives this autobiographical comedy-drama a strongly personal kick. Rated: 3.5/5 May 4, 2022 Full Review Jennifer Green Common Sense Media Despite excellent actors and story material with plenty of potential, this French dramatic comedy doesn't succeed as a drama or as a comedy. Rated: 2/5 May 3, 2022 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation Marceau remains an arresting screen presence, but that’s severely tested by Azuelos’ inane, meandering and trite tale of love, loss and closure, wrapped in a female wish fulfillment fantasy. maria m I'm stunned at the criticism this movie has gotten! It's far more enjoyable and has more depth (OK, not an ocean's worth but it IS a rom-com) than about 500 other movies like it. Don't pass this up. It's a great Friday night treat. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Skip the movie. Choose another one.
