Audience Member The low-tech design, meaningless dialogue & confusing editing altogether made this film a mess, & a joke. Rated 2/5 Stars •  Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member I remember I use to watch this movie many times and like it. It was rather nice and innovative during its time. Tony Leung is a reporter. Paul Chun is police commander. The police fight against a robot that robs the bank vault easily. The robot is control by a group. Sally Yeh force the scientist to repair the robot in 48 hours time. Lam Ching Ying is the other henchman. Ben Lam is the gang leader. John Shum is a inventor of gadgets for police. John isn't well like by his senior because he is afraid of his genius. The senior burn away his invention blueprint. Meanwhile, the baddies have come up with a new powerful robot. Tsui Hark is drunk in a bar and been bully to drink soap water. John pays for him but is pick on as well. He lost his gun and Tony pick it up for him. John turn the situation around and save Tsui. He bring him home. Lam and another guy follow Tsui and ask if he betray them. Tsui explain John is only kindly helping him home. Tsui used to be under Lam. Sally want Tsui dead just in case. Ben want Sally to remain in her state forever and had one robot made with her face. The baddies chase after John and Tsui and they manage to escape. John return his coat but put a tracker in it. The robot resembling Sally is send to kill Tsui. John follow and save him. They hide in water tank and robot Sally bash in but it short circuit. Duo become good friends. Paul lead a group of cop to nab John suspecting him leaking information to baddies. Tsui return and hold Paul hostage and duo escape. Tony who happen to be checking out their car cling on and got flung downhill. The first robot is up and running and Ben want it to kill Tsui. Sally wants to do it to show Ben her sincerity. Tsui and John hide in the old baddie hideout. They are hungry and try to eat a dog but can't do it. John had pick up the spoil robot Sally and fix it back. The robot is revived and upon saying "I love curly" it will obey command. The duo are bullying each other using the robot and Tsui tied up John, taking the robot with him. The baddies arrived with Sally and robot 1 and is chasing Tsui. Robot Sally fell down a pit and stop function. The robot 1 dismantle itself chasing after John. His masking tape is torn and quickly shout for robot Sally to save him. It is no match against the giant robot. Tsui is saved by a Lam riding bike. Sally is stuck at cliff and order robot to save her. Lam advise Tsui to leave as far as possible and he will clear up this mess. They left with robot Sally. Tony awaken and cling onto the car and flung to portable toilet. He is fired by his boss. Robot Sally malfunction and John try to fix it. John also try to fix his theory base super cannon. Tony who is sleeping next block to their hideout goes over when the fuse blow. Robot Sally repeats love novel lines to him. Tony saw the duo and call police. Robot Sally overheard John saying to test the cannon they must try on another robot but won't bear to try it on Sally. It try on itself and work but it died. Police came to catch them all. Sally track down robot Sally and bring it back. Tony return to the place and hide in the truck back to the baddie base. Sally dislike the existence of the robot self. Lam knockout Sally so Tony and take robot Sally and leave. Ben fight Lam and his head is made of robot. Robot Sally save the duo from jail. Tsui want to save his master Lam and all go together. Robot Sally save Lam from falling to death. The giant robot is bashing to robot Sally and John manage to arm the cannon. Sally and Tsui are lock in a gun battle. Ben try to control the 3rd robot and Lam fight him. Tony anyhow control and push Ben down. Sally can't get hold him and he fell to death. She follow suit. The duo is unsure if the close proximity of the cannon will kill robot Maria and it again press the trigger and killed the giant robot. Lam is dead and robot Sally use electro to revive him. All 4 have happy ending. Produced and starred (!) by Hark Tsui. Features young Tony Leung as a journalist. Sally Yeh is cool and beautiful - hope she'd been in more films. Don't recommend to watch unless you're a big fan of these names. Rated 2.5/5 Stars •  Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member An amusing and fairly light-hearted film about a gang terrorizing a city with a robot that commits crime. They create a female version of the robot, but when it malfunctions the police turn it against the gang and use 'Maria' to turn the tide. Worth a look, it has some amusing bits and some fun low budget effects. Rental at best.
