There is a great deal wrong with "I Origins," most noticeably the pacing. It is a slow burn, bordering on boring as it moves from one scene to the next.

The metaphysical love story may have asked many more questions than it could ever hope to answer but answers aren't the point of the film. Ideas are, and the film has those in spades.

I origins directed by Mike Cahill is a beautiful love story about a scientist Ian Gray who meets a girl Sofi during a haloween party and marries her when their love blossoms. One day she dies due to lift malfunction after they were returnig from his lab. He then slowly grows to his lab assistant Karen and gets married with her. They both have a boy and during the IRIS test they finds out that their son is autistic and his son's iris is matching with a person and then when he checks for Sofi's scans he finds out that the iris is matching with a girl in India. He then goes to India to find this girl and checks if the girl Salomina has Sofi's memory and when they conduct the test on her the results are only 44% which was not satisfatory. When he takes the girl back to her place then she holds him hard and cries. The movie ends with him taking her to Priya.

Lovely film. Beautiful actors. Poignant story, though quite simple and linear. They could have made it a bit more complex, less predictable. But I really loved the characters; the love scenes were amazing - great chemistry; and the message is wonderful.

I loved it in fact. I thought it was touching and evoked a lot of emotion. I thought the characters were complex and well done as well as the relationships being realistic. Left me wondering what he wanted with the little girl as he took her from her home at the end and also raised the question of the ethics surrounding his search for her. The idea of reincarnation, science, ethics and love was especially confounding to me. Got to me a tad.
