Critics Consensus

Boring, predictable, and bereft of thrills or chills, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer is exactly the kind of rehash that gives horror sequels a bad name.

Owen Gleiberman Entertainment Weekly Rated: C Sep 7, 2011 Full Review Leonard Klady Variety This followup to last year's successful teens-in-jeopardy opus piles on the chills, thrills and body count. Apr 3, 2009 Full Review Lisa Alspector Chicago Reader Our enjoyment is supposed to lie in making fun of the obvious red herrings, contrived opportunities to show cleavage, melodramatic dialogue, gullible characters, and inevitable to-be-continued ending. Jan 5, 2007 Full Review Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh What little elements that worked about the first film were almost entirely abandoned, with only Hewitt and Prinze helping elevate the material and proving themselves as young talent. Rated: 2/5 Sep 24, 2023 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins The jump scares with screeching violins are at a record-setting high, despite being much less effective than before. Julia R Bad. like most movie-series it goes downhill after the first movie, in this case significantly (not to say i think the first movie is anything more than mediocre). Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/25/24 Full Review Julian S Far more absurd than the original, yet it manages to be darker, too. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/12/24 Full Review Yash B "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer" is a lackluster and unnecessary follow-up. The first movie isn't perfect, but it is a fun and fast-paced slasher movie. This movie's premise feels forced and I just didn't feel any of the thrills or scary elements. It is one of those movies that is so bad that it actually is fun to watch at times because of the writing. It is a bad movie and a good example of why horror movie sequels tend to have a bad reputation. Overall, I would definitely go back and rewatch the first movie which is a guilty pleasure than watch this sloppily put-together sequel any time soon. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/08/24 Full Review Roman B Could of had better writers and director but let's be honest jennifer love Hewitt is just so smoking hot, perfect a goddess and that makes it way way better and a must watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/25/24 Full Review Dylan H A comparable sequel that continues to evolve the story with new cast members and a new location. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/09/24 Full Review James B I personally liked the sequel and I didn't see the twist at the end overall an alright movie Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/04/24 Full Review Read all reviews
