07/23/2017 The second film in Arrabal's 1970's trilogy is not as abstract as Viva La Muerte nor as cohesive as The Tree of Guernica; all three have highly disturbing images and violence. See more 08/29/2014 Thoroughly irreverent and entertaining as hell! See more 02/10/2012 Arrabal's film is designed to shock and there are many images and passages that purposefully try to confront public mores (rightly or wrongly). But yet there is a linear narrative of sorts (a man kills his mother, flees to the desert, and meets a strange shaman) and a few themes that carry weight (focused on the shaman who feels for the environment). Overall, this is a bit too forced and not on the level of Jodorowsky or Fellini or others who made art-house midnight movies at the time. See more 01/31/2011 Uma das cenas finais mais belas e chocantes da história do cinema. See more 01/15/2010 Great movie! one of my all time favorites! One of Arrabal's masterpieces... I totally recomend this film to art cinema fans! See more 12/24/2009 The story follows a man, Aden, played by the American George Shannon, who flees society after the death of his controlling mother. Out in the wilderness he encounters the beauty of nature, and under the tutelage of a hermit named Marvel, becomes a "normal homme." Aden falls desperately in love with Marvel, who can communicate with animals, the clouds, and the sun. See more Read all reviews
