The stakes are raised significantly when they realize that a massive glacial dam is on the verge of collapsing, threatening to flood their entire valley and put an end to their ice-capped existence. Along their journey to safety, the group gains some eccentric new companions: a mammoth named Ellie who hilariously believes she is an opossum, and her two reckless, prank-loving opossum "brothers," Crash and Eddie. Of course, no expedition in this prehistoric era would be complete without the legendary, hapless squirrel Scrat, whose obsessive and comical pursuit of his elusive acorn provides a side-splitting backdrop to the main mission of survival. See more Ciaran S @TrainMultifan26 5d This film may have issues but it's still an enjoyable sequel overall, Ice Age 2: The Meltdown is the only good sequel to the Ice Age franchise with a decently good story, likeable characters, fantastic animation, heartwarming moments on top of some of the best comedy I've seen period i couldn't tell you how I've been laughing hysterically at the some the jokes in the film, to be honest i actually enjoyed this movie just as much as i did the first film and well may not be an improvement but it's still entertaining to watch. See more Henry D @Henry_Domke Jul 7 It was a pleasant film to exercise to, and seeing it in 4K helped us appreciate the textures, especially the fur. The script, gestures, and gags were clever enough to make us chuckle a few times. Having such good voice actors also helped give the film more life than it might otherwise have had. It was not a great film, but it was an easy and enjoyable 3-star experience. Don't get me wrong, I liked the first film more, but this movie felt like a proper Ice Age movie. If these sequels never happened, my score for the first movie might be a bit higher.
