Best friends and roommates Joe (Eric Schaeffer) and Lucy (Sarah Jessica Parker) have never been lucky in love. Believing true romance is not in the cards for them, the friends make a pact -- if they haven't found meaningful relationships by Lucy's birthday, in one month, they will jump off the Brooklyn Bridge together. But it isn't until they actually find themselves in the very relationships they thought they wanted that Joe and Lucy realize that maybe they had their priorities all wrong.

Sarah Kerr The New Yorker 07/30/2013
A bleak, annoyingly quirky Gen-X recasting of the When Harry Met Sally notion that true love is based on friendship. Go to Full Review
Janet Maslin New York Times 01/01/2000
All coy grins and daffy mugging, Mr. Stiller plays the role as if aspiring to become the Elliott Gould of his generation. Compared with jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge, that's a reasonable goal. Go to Full Review
Jeff Millar Houston Chronicle 01/01/2000
If Lucy Fell is funnier more often than not, and when it's not being funny it's at least being strange. I'll take strange over what most major-distributor comedies are when they're not being funny. Go to Full Review

Ardyn F 10/19/2023 Clever, fun and touching. Eric Schaeffer is hilarious. One of my favorite romantic comedies from the 90's. See more 01/13/2020 This movie is ok. Not as bad as the tomato score makes it look. I really liked the Bwick scenes. See more 09/10/2016 A fun hidden treasure of the 90s featuring Sarah Jessica Parker. An expected comedy of laughs. Dont expect much and then youll find urself pleasantly surprised :) See more 06/25/2013 Generic and uninspired, If Lucy Fell is stereotypical rom-com tripe. The story follows two friends that make a death pact to jump off the Brooklyn Bridge if they haven't turned around their romantic fortunes in 28 days. Starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Eric Schaeffer, Ben Stiller, and Elle Macpherson, the cast is fairly good and gives decent performances. But the writing is extremely poor, and is just one cliche after another. If Lucy Fell is a by the book romantic comedy that has some charm, but no originality or heart.
