Elle Macpherson

Elle Macpherson was one of a handful of women who could lay claim to putting put the "super" in "supermodel." The Australian beauty shot to international fame in the mid-1980s by strutting on some of the most exclusive runways for designers like Valentino and John Galliano, and even more importantly, gracing the covers of the world's top women's magazines, including Cosmopolitan, Elle, and British Vogue. Dubbed by TIME magazine as "The Body," Macpherson famously made the cover of Sports Illustrated's highly coveted annual swimsuit edition numerous times beginning in 1986. After conquering the modeling world, Macpherson launched a series of business ventures including a successful lingerie and skincare line, a series of fitness videos, and netted lucrative beauty contracts with Revlon and Victoria's Secret. She also dabbled in acting, mostly as eye candy in films such as "Sirens" (1993) and "Batman & Robin" (1997), as well on top-rated shows like "Friends" (NBC, 1994-2004).
