One miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly return to life. But these are not zombies, as the "revived" appear and behave just as they did before. As the mystery of this phenomenon fuels unrest, Dana Cypress, a down-on-her-luck and crass police officer and single mother, is thrust into a peculiar murder investigation-one where the murder victim is now alive, and everyone, whether living or revived, is a suspect.

Amber Dowling Globe and Mail Revival isn’t top-notch television, nor is it going to redefine the zombie genre. But over the first six episodes... it is a somewhat faithful adaptation of a beloved series with a beloved lead. Jun 24, 2025 Full Review Nick Schager The Daily Beast A novel twist on a familiar premise, and bound to entice those who can’t get enough of the undead. Jun 15, 2025 Full Review Angie Han The Hollywood Reporter Revival might not have sufficient bite to leave a mark. But as simply a fun mystery to escape into, familiar enough to be comforting but fresh enough to feel unpredictable, it does what it has to do. Jun 13, 2025 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba Thanks to the appealing cast, especially Scrofano’s dry wit, it’s already charming and very much in the vein of Wynonna Earp, Resident Alien, or even Buffy in its heyday: catnip for a particular slice of this site’s genre-loving crowd. Jun 16, 2025 Full Review Sam Barsanti IGN Movies Even as the tone shifts wildly from comedy to horror, an excellent performance from star Melanie Scrofano keeps things from going fully off the rails. Rated: 6/10 Jun 13, 2025 Full Review Tim Stevens The Spool [C]inematographers Justin Black and Martin Wojtunik, along with the directing corps led by Amanda Row and Samir Rehem, know how to pick their shots. Liz F. I’m on episode 5 right now. I think the lead actors really make this series worth watching. Although the premise has been used before, the casting makes this an entertaining watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/28/25 Full Review Audience Member I Cant believe People are rating this show high, the acting is horrible. The characters don't seem to Care about what is going on around them & the main familie is so unlikeable and poorly written. I wouldnt bother giving this a view have i known how bad is was (and stayed) Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/26/25 Full Review Cuan Chai M Given that Syfy TV show budgets typically range between $2–5 million per season, I still give this series high marks. While the VFX in the alien scene were underwhelming, the producers and actors made the most of a limited budget—delivering strong performances and bringing a well-written teleplay to life with impressive creativity and effort. I hope it finds its audience on Peacock and gets renewed with a larger budget. If not, I’d love to see Netflix pick it up—especially with Stranger Things coming to an end. This could be a strong successor. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/26/25 Full Review George R Interesting syfy concepts with both humor and tender moments included, plus the rather timely backdrop of hate-mongering expressed. Curious to see where it goes. My only gripe: I wish all episodes came out at once. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/26/25 Full Review Michael H. I actually like this show so far. Interesting and original story. I look forward to season 2 and more information on what is going on in the town. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/26/25 Full Review Audience Member Excellent concept and great cast. Unfortunately it's filled with cheap humor and clichés that kill any momentum the show had. This is one of those "fun" horror series and isn't serious. I made it to episode 2 before turning it off and finding another show. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/25/25 Full Review Read all reviews
