What to Know

Critics Consensus

Foundation's narratively knotty third season doesn't quite measure up to its superb predecessor, but this sci-fi epic endures as a faithful and well-acted adaptation of Isaac Asimov's masterpiece.

Craig Mathieson Sydney Morning Herald [Pilou Asbaek's] demonstrations add an element of horror to Foundation, which also has a sly sense of humour sneaking through. Of the many fantastical elements manifesting here, influencer satire was the least expected. Rated: 4/5 Aug 18, 2025 Full Review Ed Power Daily Telegraph (UK) Ludicrous, lavish and larkingly largely than life, it is one of the most bonkers TV shows ever made and all the richer for that lack of inhibition. Foundation is science fiction with rocket jets cranked to the max... Rated: 4/5 Jul 11, 2025 Full Review Nick Schager The Daily Beast Continues to put the rest of its small-screen genre brethren to shame with its momentous, magnificent third season. Jul 10, 2025 Full Review Juan Carlos Galindo El Pais (Spain) The changes from the novels, which are noticeable from the outset,...have become more pronounced with the same pace as the series' virtues. Oct 8, 2025 Full Review Mini Anthikad-Chhibber The Hindu The juxtaposition of the mighty and the micro, supported by stunning production values, makes the war between Jared Harris’ psycho-historian, Lee Pace’s clone Empire, and Pilou Asbæk’s unpredictably charming Mule irresistible Sep 17, 2025 Full Review Will Borger But Why Tho? A Geek Community This season swings for the fences hard, which is excellent. I wish the flight there hadn’t been quite so bumpy. Rated: 8/10 Sep 12, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

LordJuar A This season was amazing. The new elements that they added were great and it still had everything that I loved about the previous seasons. The visuals and music in this season were fantastic. I was constantlty at the edge of my seat and at the end of each episode trying to figure out what is coming next and what each thing that happened would mean in the future. This season also had one of the greatest finales I have ever seen. It constantly blew my mind and I cannot wait for the next season. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/07/25 Full Review Quest H Season 3: Amazing build up to be destroyed by Deus ex machina. Almost the best season so far. I couldn't stop watching it. Until the last episode. About half way through episode 10, After I realized that all of the interesting build up was just going to be thrown away and no climax or closure. I had to watch it in 2x speed to get it over with. What a disappointment. I'm not sure I'll continue season 4 if it ever comes, episode 10 eroded my trust. Both because the twist was unbelievable (completely ad-hoc), the action sequences were impossible (person flies from space to planet surface while surfing a metal door without being burnt by the atmosphere), and the sequence of final events was just disappointing and rendered the last few episodes pointless. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/05/25 Full Review Vinicius B At first I was kind of disconnected from the story, as I loved the Cleons from season 2. But as it progressed, it was a really good watch, especially Demerzel's story (Laura Birn is an amazing actor) and Dawn's path to darkness. Gaal´s story on the other hand was a bit repetitive and I couldn't connect that much with her and her feud with the Mule. Hope season 4 is approved and that Demerzel does not abandon us. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/28/25 Full Review Tom W Waiting 2 years between seasons is absurd. Don't remember what happened prior season, and done with rewatching shows yet again to reconnect. Work like the rest of us, or our household is done. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/27/25 Full Review Alan B Outstanding in so many different ways. Has to be the most spectacular sci-fi series ever created. Can’t say enough good things about it. An extraordinary achievement by all those involved. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/23/25 Full Review Michael M I was able to enjoy most of the season but my jaw hit the floor when I watched someone run through a window of a space station and surf through space, upper atmosphere, and beyond. I had to turn the show off. How does something like this get made? How does anyone watch a scene like that and enjoy it? Completely detached from any sense of reality or common sense. The show had just explained in E8 how Brother Dawn's space suit had consumed his legs to keep him alive in space and now Gaal Dornick can simply fly through space on a make shift surfboard? I'm disgusted by S3 Episode 10 and deeply sad I spent so much time watching this show apparently made for the extremely dimly lit. I cannot even finish what I have left of Episode 10, and will not continue watching. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/17/25 Full Review Read all reviews
