Between sharp writing, a fantastic crop of young actors, and Marc Munden’s masterful direction that captures naive wonder and unspeakable horrors, you’ve never seen this familiar tale quite like this. Go to Full Review

The kids are all great, but the standout is McKenna, who turns Piggy into a pitiable hero who finds that sometimes decency simply doesn’t pay. Go to Full Review

It understands why the story has resonated for over 70 years, and become a middle school English class perennial -- and the ways in which it feels especially, unfortunately, timely at the moment. Go to Full Review

It was nothing less than a slog to power through these beautiful but uninteresting episodes. Go to Full Review

It may not be perfect, but it’s about as good a cinematic interpretation of this modern classic as we’re likely to see. Go to Full Review

Visually stunning and stylistically daring, the series is a largely faithful adaptation of the novel. The few things Thorne changes, however, are interesting and often elevate the source material. Go to Full Review

Leprechaun K @LeprechaunKing 4d The limited series is awful, poorly written and directed. The pacing is horrendous. What should have been a 90 minutes movie is stretched to 4 hours. The casting of Ralph and other key characters is not great. Only enjoyable character to watch is Simon. See more Michelle T. @RT92274172 6d Absolutely incredible TV rendition of such an iconic novel. Certainly an arthouse production, not really made for the masses. Very cinematic, experimental, eclectic, but profoundly fascinating and thought-provoking. If you’re looking for a wild, action-packed thriller, you will be disappointed. This is slower paced and meaningful, which allows us to really see the kids’ progression into insanity. Yes, there is some pretty cringe-worthy CGI work, but that’s about my only knock on this series. The young actors, notably the characters of Piggy and Jack, are seriously impressive. Including some surprisingly long single-shot scenes that add to the effects. I can understand the frustration from some, but nearly consider it a masterpiece See more Rob L @Billy2542 Jun 7 Wow. What a way to F up a great story. We get it, you want to psy uop every audience into thinkinh all white people are evil and all non whites are the heros; now can you cut it out with the diversity Olympics and make a watcheable show? Crap. See more nicole T. @RT57984973 Jun 6 The aesthetic from music to visuals is very on point. The acting of the children is fantastic, especially Jack, whose violence and loss of control are terrifying, but equally impressive to me See more Goose R. @rodrigug Jun 5 🚨🚨🚨 Contains a spoiler 🚨🚨🚨 I heard the book is really good and I also wanted to learn what the author thought a group of kids on a deserted island would do. The story revolves around a group of children that survives a plane crash where all the adults died. They have to fend for themselves and make rules. The spoiler , not really a spoiler, is the part where they hunt a mother pig with her piglets. It’s really disturbing. On the flip side , most children are shocked by what they did. One even is concerned about the fate of the piglets , now orphans. There is another scene where one is unable to kill a pig. This was really disturbing to me and for that and also that was slow and boring , I give this one a 🍿/5 on Netflix See more Tomato B. @GummyBee Jun 1 No one likes it when you change the original story. Especially since this story felt very unrefined. 10/10 kid actors though, give them a raise. They made it bearable to finish (almost didn’t) See more Read all reviews
