It understands why the story has resonated for over 70 years, and become a middle school English class perennial -- and the ways in which it feels especially, unfortunately, timely at the moment. Go to Full Review

Some sequences, like the first wild boar hunt, are filmed by Munden in a way that puts you right there with the boys -- and as the boys transform from frightened to feral, it's hard to shake, and to forget. Go to Full Review

Led by an astoundingly talented cast of young actors and brought to life with painterly brushstrokes of vivid color and horrifying imagery, "Flies" is four episodes of captivating, edge-of-your-seat horror. Go to Full Review

A truly disturbing look at how easily society could backslide into primitive savagery if you take away law and order. This series is beautiful, tragic, and absolutely mesmerizing to watch. Go to Full Review

The result is overwhelming and fabulous, but it may not resonate with all viewers. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Angela D @RT63484606 3h Terrible show waste of time See more Theresa D @TessaD007 5h To everyone saying this series was "amazing," you’ve clearly never edited a video in your life. The editing in this Lord of the Flies adaptation was terrible, lingering far too long on dull transition shots and scenes that added nothing to the story. Key plot points and the deeper meaning of the book were completely missed. The boys’ acting was solid, but the editing is where things fell apart for me. And what was going on with the coloring? It felt inconsistent and distracting. On top of that, the writers left out so many important parts of the original dialogue and themes. As someone who loved the novel, this adaptation felt like a disgrace to Golding’s work. It almost seemed like the writers looked at the criticism of the 1990 film and tried to make the exact opposite, but it didn’t work. I saw another review calling this "the cousin of Adolescents," and I couldn’t agree more. See more AIRMAXED87 G. @RT09899490 5h THAT MOVIE WASNT 1/100th of HOW GOOD IT COULD HAVE BEEN. THE BOOK IS ONE THAT ALL SHOULD READ. CAN NOT SAY THE SAME THING ABOUT THE MOVIE. IM A MOVIE BUFF TOO. BEEN WAITING SINCE I READ IT ALMOST 20 YEARS BACK. AS AN ASSIGNMENT FOR SCHOOL, YET, TURNED OUT TO BE AN ALL TIME FAVORITE. PROBABLY THE ONLY MANDATORT BOOK EVER ON ANY CIRRICULUM IN SCHOOL FROM K-12 & COLLEGE. THIS WAS ONE BOOK I WAS HAPPY THAT I READ IT BUT THAT OTHERS GOING FORWARD WERE GOING TO BE READING IT AS WELL. THIS TYPE OF BOOK. I CANT IMAGINE WHAT RHE AUTHOR IN HIS MIND WAS PICTURING AS ITS THE AUTHORS VISION AND NEVER SHARES IT, THE WORLD THEY LIVE IN INSIDE THE BOOK. YET, THE MOVIE IS NOT A MUST SEE BY ANY MEANS. COULDA DONE A LOT OF CHANGES. MORE TIME WITH THE CHOIR BOYS RUNNING IT & THEY SHOULD HAVE SHOWED HOW THEY ENDED UP TAKING OVER. INSTEAD. LEFT W/ JUST SEEING RALPH & PIGGY AS THE OTHER ~40 KIDS TURN SAVAGE. WE SEE BITS & PIECES BUT NO BUILD UP W JACK WHICH WAS HUGE WHEN READING IT. MISSED OPPORTUNITIES! See more Coen M. @ReviewerC 11h Biggining of first episode seemed like it was going to be bad but keep going it gets better 🙂 See more 丰丰 涂 @RT54594547 11h I love this drama. The bold colors and stunning cinematography stand in stark contrast to the darkness of human nature after being stranded on a deserted island, making the viewing experience absolutely captivating See more Jonathan H @RT66479691 19h I can't say it was an enjoyable watch, but it seemed to stay true to the original novel. Of course, it's been years and years since I read it. The artistry and film locations were very well done, as was the acting of the various boys. Overall, I think it did a decent job at exploring humanity's capacity and magnetism towards various unsavory characteristics, like authoritarianism, tribalism and extremism through cultish group-think. It's definitely not an optimistic view of humanity - LOL... See more Read all reviews
