The kids are all great, but the standout is McKenna, who turns Piggy into a pitiable hero who finds that sometimes decency simply doesn’t pay. Go to Full Review

It understands why the story has resonated for over 70 years, and become a middle school English class perennial -- and the ways in which it feels especially, unfortunately, timely at the moment. Go to Full Review

Some sequences, like the first wild boar hunt, are filmed by Munden in a way that puts you right there with the boys -- and as the boys transform from frightened to feral, it's hard to shake, and to forget. Go to Full Review

It was nothing less than a slog to power through these beautiful but uninteresting episodes. Go to Full Review

It may not be perfect, but it’s about as good a cinematic interpretation of this modern classic as we’re likely to see. Go to Full Review

Visually stunning and stylistically daring, the series is a largely faithful adaptation of the novel. The few things Thorne changes, however, are interesting and often elevate the source material. Go to Full Review

Laura C. @lauraleeclark 1d The camera work was nauseating See more William E @RT17367096 3d I found myself both repulsed and fascinated by this adaptation of the book I read in high school. The pacing was rather slow during episode 1 but picked up after that. Jack, with his voluptuous face, was deliciously evil. Piggy was perfect in the role. The highlight for me was in episode 3 when Jack's tribe goes wild and their savagery is on full display as they "kill the beast" during a thunderous storm. Well done. See more Sus F. @engravingshop 4d Absolutely visually stunning film. The acting could not be better. These children were cast perfectly for their roles. Nicky/Piggy did an incredible job. Wow. This film is emotional for sure. I don't want to spoil it - my heart is aching and my blood is boiling. It's not what I expected - it's fantastic! This film makes you think about life and fear and trust....... See more Manuel F @RT39248464 5d Worst movie I’ve watched. I hated the dead space in the movie. Lots of scenes that just didn’t make sense at all. What is the underline meaning of this movie? Did they get possessed by demons or what? It would have been better if we had an ending where the kids that murdered the other two kids were arrested and charged with murder. That would be justice and a satisfying ending. But no, we got a bunch of nonsense and no real meaning or endings. See more robert W @RT17984162 5d I came here to see what others had to say. I am glad to agree that there was so much dead space in this movie that is was difficult to watch. I almost nodded off on many instances. The actors, however, were superb...great at capturing each role and personality. I loved the origininal movie that I watched as a child over 50 years ago, but this one did not meet my expectations...just poorly produced. See more Cindy K @RT08718693 6d Superb acting by all four of the main characters, Piggy, Simon, Ralph and Jack. Amazing talented kids. With that said, this had way too many dead spots. There were some good moments that they gave you time to think but then it just went on and on. It could have easily been done in a feature length film or each episode 45 minutes not the hour. I had a hard time wanting to keep on going to finish it. The book was difficult to put down where at times I had to just simply fast forward through the redundant scenes to not just quit watching the series. See more Read all reviews
