I binge-watched all episodes in one sitting and can highly recommend that you do the same. I certainly found it very difficult to stop watching the sequel series The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek. Torben E @Torben 2h Like season 1 before, season 2 is a decent murder mystery with strong actors and a visible high production value. Also, the emotional ties between the characters are depicted very well. And newcomer Ester Birch was an unexpected surprise and managed to anchor the character relationships even more. Still, in my opinion, the biggest flaw of this series is its day-to-day life look and atmosphere. And I absolutely didn't like how incompetent most of the cops were depicted in this season. I mean...SMALL SPOILER ahead....there's a guy with a single shot-hunting rifle (he has to reload after every shot) and there are three police officers with 9mm-semi-automatic pistols and bullet proof vests...and they all get killed by the guy? This felt like unimaginative scriptwriting. Because of scenes like this, many of the twists and turns in this season felt forced by the script to extend the runtime of the season or make the murder mystery look more opaque.
