Best friends Shawn Gunderson and Vikram 'Vik' Kapoor escape from the drudgery of high school life in Oklahoma through their obsession with all things Japanese. When a mysterious anime film transforms them into its superhuman characters, they at first think that their wildest fantasies have come true. But when ancient monsters threaten to unleash the apocalypse on New Year's Eve of 1999, Shawn and Vik must look to each other to become the heroes they were always meant to be. Joining their adventure is Miki, a Japanese exchange student whose determination to go on a Native American vision quest puts her on a collision course with both Shawn and Vik and their foes... and whose destiny may determine the fate of the world.

Kindhearted tribute to the life lesson moments at the end of every episode of Power Rangers. The action is just a fun way to reward yourself for learning something other than how to land a proper hero stance off your living room couch.

🤔 Weird movie, I know they also try to make a retro Japan film and some anime but how did this movie release in 2022?. I don't know how I can watch full film with this resolution. About the plot I think it okay, not too bad not too good, not too boring and I think it did well in some scenes. It's worth a try

Great movie! I like how different it felt from super sentai even if it was inspired heavy by it and still was able to tell its charming story, it was refreshing and even made me laugh at some points. I hope to own it in physical form one day :D

I watched this because I was bored and wanted something cheesey but fun. I was not disappointed, I was actually very impressed with how good this movie actually was. It's a great family friendly movie and the cast was solid, the acting was more convincing than alot of these hyped movies coming out in 2022 . With clear inspirations from old 90's anime and the likes of power rangers with equally corny costumes but it all just clicks and fits perfectly. This is no Marvel movie by any means but honestly i'd say thats one of the best things about it. 100% recommend watching. This movie deserves way more credit for its return to old school entertainment.
