dave j Monday, January 27, 2014 (2012) I'm Yours DRAMA Independent road trip movie written and directed by Leonard Farlinger with Robert(Rossif Sutherland) bilking the company he worked for a substantial amount of money, and it appears he works for Wall Street too. While he's in hanging around drowning his sorrows on some bar jabbering about his ex in New York City, he then makes out with a female stranger naming herself Daphne (Karine Vanasse). While he's still wasted, she then takes the liberty to drive him to a small town across the border in Ontario, Canada called Thunder Bay for the intention of having him to convince her parents that she is perhaps married to him. And because Daphne has already send Robert's bagful of money away he bilked from the company to be sent to Thunder Bay too, he has no choice but to agree to her terms. Another long road trip movie that really doesn't amount to anything except to make amends for a dysfunctional relationship about why Daphne doesn't get along with her parents. The long subtle scenes is what kept this film from being a rotten since in most movies a demented serial killer would have to be thrown in there, and is not the case for this movie. 2.5 out of 4 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Screenplay could have been better it goes really dull in some places. This may not touch you as many romantic dramas or indie romantic dramas did but may still leave a tiny mark on you. Too forgettable and unlikable to do anything for the romantic drama genre. I had some expectations but it didn't impressed me much. Very drawn out movie that is really only good one time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member This sets itself up like it's going to have a twisty, what's-really-going-on plot, but the twists are few and don't spin the story anywhere too interesting. Instead the dramatic tension pretty much exhausts itself after the first hour and the story just putters along in the obvious direction until the end. Liam Lacey Globe and Mail The plot collapses into a fairy-tale ending that is offered as an odd remedy for the characters' facile defeatism.
